Dear uncle, I did not know you for long, but even still, you always made me feel loved, appreciated and special with the level of respect and care you gave me. I was never sure how to help you and that will always haunt me. But you in turn have helped me in ways I ought to have told you in person; thank you for blessing me with three beautiful friends as your children. Without Nila - her wisdom, her kindness, her love - I don't know where I'd be; Lathan - his dedication to Eelam, his ability to make anyone laugh, his inspirational strength to keep going even in the most devastating of times, and perianna - his smile, his warmth, his humour: your children have become my siblings. And this is thanks to you, uncle. It is odd to think that we come from our parents, for somewhere along the lines we seem to drift apart from them and become our own people. Nila is certainly her own person and I don't think I quite appreciated the fact that you gave her life until now. Thank you. I hope to whatever power there is above us all that you are in less pain that you were whilst you were with us. I hope you rest in peace uncle.
