He was always there if I needed him. He hugged me pre-covid each time we said goodbye. He sometimes surprised me with the agility of his mind and the breath of his knowledge. He never shirked responsibility, and always was the first to offer help. He bore his illness with courage and strength, and still thought of others even at the very end. Slowly, his light had begun to diminish these last months, but he will shine brightly for me in my heart. I will miss him. Being weak, in pain and fragile didn't suit him or me these past weeks, and I'm glad for him that he is at peace and free from his recent suffering.
