On behalf of Bala, Lali, Kumar, Kamalini and Ravi, our deepest sympathies in this time of grief. 'Thamby Mama' (as we all learned to call him from his niece Lali), was a favourite of our family, as he had been of hers in. Urumpirai (Jaffna) and Colombo. Their mutual fondness for each other was evident; and his presence has been of great comfort to Lali during her years in England. Bala and the kids remember the hospitality and care we enjoyed in Dartford from Sothy mami and mama in 1983 while on an extended stay from Brunei. Once we relocated, our visits and interactions kept us close. Mama always had a smile on his face and a laugh in his voice. His garden was a joy to him and others. He was devoted to Mami; thought the world of Yalini and Brendan; and adored his grandkids. He lives on in our memories and hearts.
