10 Year Memory of Sellathurai Kanapathipillai was born in Velanai West,, Jaffna and lived in Colombo.

Ten years have passed since you left us,
On Father's Day, you quietly went away,
But not a single day has passed
When we haven't missed you in some way.

I still remember our days in Velanai,
The simple life, the memories we made,
Then moving to India, beginning anew,
And finally Colombo, where our family stayed.

You were a man of learning, strength and pride,
A hard-working father through every year,
You spent your life earning and caring,
For your five children, always holding us near.

You worked through the days, through every season,
Never asking for comfort or reward,
Your family was your greatest purpose,
And for us, you gave your heart to the Lord.

You educated us and watched us grow,
Helped us build our lives and find our way,
You saw your children married and settled,
And stood beside us on every special day.

Then came your grandchildren, your greatest joy,
With little gifts on birthdays and special days,
Your love was always wrapped in kindness,
A beautiful memory that time cannot erase.

You travelled across the seas to be with us,
To share our happiness and special occasions,
No distance was ever too far for you,
Your love knew no borders or limitations.

And perhaps the hardest memory of all-
Even in your final breath, you were working,
Still thinking of providing for your family,
Still giving, still caring, still loving.

Ten years without you feels like yesterday,

கடல் கடந்து வந்து எங்களை மகிழ்வித்த 
உனது அன்பையும், பேரக்குழந்தைகள் மீது
 நீ பொழிந்த பாசத்தையும் நாங்கள் 
என்றும் மறக்க முடியாது.

இறுதிக்கணம் வரை குடும்பத்திற்காகவே 
உழைத்தாய். அன்பு அப்பாவே, அம்மாவுடன்
 சேர்ந்து நீ நீடூழி அமைதியில் துயில்க. 
உனது நினைவுகளும் வழிகாட்டுதலும் 
என்றும் எங்கள் இதயங்களில் வாழும்.
