Michael and I deeply grieve the loss of our dear friend, Rajan Sriskandarajah. Rajan and Nalaini Acca were not just friends but family to us during the time we lived in Connecticut. Our children, Marian and Anthony, shared countless joyful moments with their son, Sai. The bond we shared was so strong that we felt like one big, interconnected family. My connection with Nalaini Acca goes back to my school days at Holy Family Convent in Jaffna, where I had the privilege of being classmates with her sister, Premala. Additionally, Nalaini Acca's father, Mr. Sam Sabapathy, held the esteemed position of being the first Mayor of Jaffna following British rule. Our families also had common relatives in Vavuniya, which led to heartwarming conversations between Nalaini Acca's mother and my own mother whenever she visited our home in Jaffna. I first met Rajan at Jaffna hospital when he was engaged to Nalaini Acca. Our connection continued as they embarked on their journey together, from their time in the UK to settling in the USA. Rajan's warm and welcoming nature left a lasting impression on us. Rajan's commitment to our community was evident through his devotion to the Elankai Tamil Sangam. Thanks to his guidance and the advice of Dr. Jegathesan, we organized meaningful activities for children in Connecticut, alongside dedicated individuals like Dr. Kanthi, Dr. Mohanraj, his wife Cyntha, and others. Rajan's passion for serving our community was truly inspiring. We are deeply saddened by the suffering Rajan endured following the accident and his eventual passing. His legacy of service and dedication to his people will forever remain etched in our hearts and minds. Rajan and Nalaini Acca are in our daily prayers, and we pray for Dr. Rajan Sriskandarajah to find eternal peace. May his soul rest in peace. With heartfelt condolences, Agnes Thambynayagam
