We are all saddened by the loss of our dearest Uma mama. We cannot imagine what an irreplaceable loss this must be to his family. We all send our deepest sympathies to Mami, Dami acca and Kisha acca and their families. My earliest memory of Uma mama is around 7 years when I visited him in Chithankeny, Jaffna. Two qualities of him have imprinted in my memory since that day. One is his hospitality and the second is his sense of humour. Since then my brother and I love meeting him and listen to his stories. He had a knack to recite events vividly building up suspense while keeping his audience in full attention. There is always boisterous laughter around him when he came to Nallur to visit us. Even after many years when we met in London, he still had the same welcoming personality and charisma. His jovial nature was with him till the end as I learnt from Dami acca. He will be forever missed but his memory shall be with us for ever.
