Our beloved and respected Prof (Mrs)Mageswaran departed from this world (04/17/2022). Very shocking news received in the morning today. I am lost in words . Prof Mageswaran and Prof (Mrs) Mageswaran dedicated their life’s to well being of their students. Their life was around Chemistry dept of Uni of Jaffna. Because of these selfless, genius, dedicated and caring Profs (both) lot of chemistry graduates 🎓 are performing very well in their field . They both not only involved in teaching and encouraging their students to bring out their full potential out. Encouraged us to go overseas to do PhD and supported us to get scholarship (fully funded) to support our PhD in overseas. So many of US selected as Chemistry field and advanced in this field all over the world because Prof Mageswaran and Prof (Mrs) Mageswaran. With heavy heart to know that Prof (Mrs) Mageswaran left this world today . 😭😭😭😭😭 Prof Mageswaran was genius in Organic Chemistry and Prof (Mrs) Mageswaran is genius in Inorganic Chemistry. At last I met her in person in Liverpool 1996 April. She came to Liverpool for a sabbatical leave. We had a good time in Liverpool. I was in touch via telephone with her until last year. Very sad to hear that she is no more . They didn’t have their own children BUT thousands of students they took care of and treated them as of their own children. They both were 2nd parents to me personally. You will be always in my heart until my last breath in this world. Because of you (both) I did my PhD in Chemistry and did very well in professionally in Singapore. Lot of my friends in Singapore were asked me about my chemistry foundations too good. That time I always proudly say to them that all the credits should go to my Professors Mageswaran and Mrs Mageswaran. Both of them are extremely good, the way of teaching the chemistry so special .
