நண்பா நீ சென்றுவிட்டாய் என்ற செய்திகேட்டதும் அதிர்ச்சியும் கவலையும் அடைந்தேன். யாழ் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் நாம் இருவேறு துறைகளில் கல்விகற்றிருந்தாலும் நாம் ஒன்றாகவே இரசாயனவியல் விரிவுரைகளில் கலந்துகொள்வாம் அங்குதான் நாம் இருவரும் ஒருவரை ஒருவர் சந்தித்தோம் நட்புடன் பழகிகொண்டோம். உன்னுடன் பல்கலைக்கழகத்திற்கு பிற்பட்ட காலங்களில் தொடர்பு இல்லாதிருந்தபோதிலும் உன்னைப்பற்றி சக நண்பர்களிடம் அவ்வப்போது விசாரிப்பதுண்டு, மேலும் உனது நினைவுகள் அவ்வப்போது என் மனதில் தோன்றும். நண்பா பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் உன்னுடன் பழகிய நாட்கள் இனிமையானவை என்றும் மறக்கமுடியாது. உனது பிரிவால் துயருடன் இருக்கும் உனது மனைவி, மகன் மற்றும் உறவினர்கள் நண்பர்கள் அனைவருக்கும் எனது ஆழ்ந்த கவலையை தெரிவித்து கொள்வதுடன் உனது ஆத்மா சாந்தியடைய இறைவனை பிரார்த்திக்கின்றேன். வரதன் Australia Dear Friend, I was deeply shocked and saddened to hear of your passing. Though we belonged to different departments at the University of Jaffna, we often found ourselves attending chemistry lectures together. It was there that we first met and formed a friendship that I will always cherish. Even after university, though we drifted apart and lost contact, I would still ask about you now and then through mutual friends. Your memory has never left me — moments from our time together at university still come to mind often, filled with warmth and fondness.
