Fondly called ‘Soma’ and ‘Dr. Soma’, by those closely known to you, you were a very kind, caring and courteous gentleman of a person, with an ever-heart-warming smile and always ready to extend your help in any way you can. You not only extended your service to humanity through your medical profession that you chose, but also spread your wings in the promotion of Saivaism, progress of the Tamil society, and emancipation of the Tamils. You were actively involved, but most of the time, as far as I have known and heard, quite content to be in the background helping in all the ways possible, not seeking name or fame. That you were also a good cricket player and a student leader during your College days, came to be known by me only when some of the Alumni of Jaffna College, in their tribute to you, had mentioned that you were a member of the Jaffna College Cricket team and was also the President of the School Council—no easy feats. Farewell to the Heavenly Abode. You will be sadly missed among our midst on this earth. Our heartfelt condolences to Indra and the rest of the family.
