Dear family members of Sampanthan I am sad and sorry to hear the demise of Mr Sampanthan. His death has caused a great vacuum not only for his family but for the wider Tamil Community in UK and in the Tamil Homelands of Sri Lanka. I have known him for over half a Century and I will miss him personally. He was a member of the Federal Party since the Fifties and later with the T N A. Apart from his political activities he was an ardent trade Unionist, author of books and published Suderoli magazine. Hailing from a traditional Saivaite family from Karainagar, he was actively involved in Saiva Munnetta Sangam and the Thikkaraai Murugan Temple at Karainagar.
