Throughout his life, Appa left the most beautiful impression on those around him. His gentle nature and calm approach to everything has never resonated more with us until now. When we sit and think now, there was nothing in this world that Appa couldn’t make better with a shrug of his shoulders and his ‘parava ilai’ approach. He has taught us to be patient in a demanding world. Appa never raised his voice. In anger, he was the voice of reason. Appa has taught us to stay grounded and that energy spent in anger, is energy wasted and we will endeavour to remember his composure. Appa has supported and nurtured our interests from day one. He was our most dedicated audience, our loudest cheerleader and proudest coach. He spent hours driving us around, and what’s more is that he wanted to do this for us. Uber has nothing on Appa, who would be there in less than the time predicted, impart wisdom on the journey and never charge a surplus. His reward was seeing Rishihan and I spend our time enjoying our hobbies. Appa has taught us the importance of passion and hard work. What our family will remember the most about Appa is his willingness to help us with absolutely anything. Appa was a loving son and brother, a dedicated husband, a devoted father, a supportive Mama and a loyal friend. He has taught us that we are strength in numbers. It feels like our whole world mourns our loss, but we mourn together. Appa always supported those around him, and we will continue to do this too. Today we have lost a father and Amma has lost her husband, her beloved Kunchu. Appa we promise to take care of Amma, to love and support her as you so wonderfully did for 25 years. Appa we love you and each day to come will bear a sadness. But we are ready to carry you forward with us in all that you have taught us and in the unconditional love that you showered upon us. When we think of you, we promise to be strong. Our hearts will feel a little ‘robin’ flutter as your memory passes through us.
