Tribute to Sornambal Nalliah Our heart aches for you and your family during this time. We have lost a lady with more love, compassion, and zest for life than words can express. She will be immensely missed by all those who knew her. Sornambal was known to all as Sornam. A loving, devoted wife to Mr. A.S. Nalliah. Mother to her children. Sister to her siblings. Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. Being the eldest daughter in her family, she was a role model not only to her brothers and sisters, but to all her cousins. She was an unassuming personality who believed in service. She was caring, kind, loyal and popular among all her friends and family. She touched many lives through the passage of her life not only in her personal life but in her professional life. During an era where women’s education was not prioritised, her determination to overcome adversity and complete her education inspired her to become a teacher, and later a Headmistress. She served as inspiration for me, and my cousins to follow in her footsteps and become a teacher too. I never felt that I grew up without a mother when you were around. You were always there for me when I needed help and I will never forget what you did for me. Words cannot heal the pain of losing someone so dear. We are all heartbroken. She had a very meaningful life and left the world peacefully. Akkah's life was once lived for the better lived of others. She devoted her life to religion and was a Sai Baba devotee. May she attain the bliss of Moksha. Janaki Karthigesu & Family
