Late Mr Balathasan was a honourable man who stood by the Tamils in all his capacity to promote the interests of the oppressed. He was part and parcel of political, social and cultural movements in London. He supported Tamil education for second generation. He was a prominent member at CBFTRR who supported the IDPs of 1977, 1981 and 1983 pogroms in the tune of £700,000 all audited. TIC was formed to monitor the massive onslaught under JR regime and he stood by all activities. He had a left-wing mindset and supported EROS. He didn't miss an opportunity to help the Tamils in all his capacity. As a few from Trinco, he stood in the front line. I salute this humble gentleman for his courage and steadfastness. May his soul rest in peace. My heartfelt condolences to Mallika akka and Children. I bid good bye to late Mr Balathasan who contributed to the betterment of Tamils in many ways with thankful heart.
