Dear Malliga We are very saddened to come to know of the departure of Bala, our dear friend-- always smiling, courteous, considerate and a caring humanist and gentleman of a person of high calibre. As we know (and Bala used to relate the courting days smilingly with cheer, happiness and a sense of pride) both of you embarked on a husband-wife journey which you chose out of love for each other and bonded by it. --Two boats that start from two different shores, by God’s Will, meet and travel together, side by side in the sea of life. It is inevitable that at one point of time they have to depart from each other to reach the shore at the other end at different times; the remaining boat that journeys in this world continues with fond memories and doing its duties, until it too inevitably reaches the shore with the hope that one day they will meet again to continue on their journey. Shanthee & I are sorry that being far away, we could not be present for his farewell and unable to be near you all at this time; but our thoughts are with you and pray God that He will give you the fortitude to get over this irreparable loss. We should take consolation that Bala having lived a meaningful life; and, shedding his worn- out body, his spirit soars to greater heights unto the loving care of God.
