I have known Peri Appah over the years and come to appreciate certain incredible things about him. He was a confident and charismatic man who always exuded a sense of power. He effortlessly pulled people in to orbit around him, sometimes the strong, and often-times the weak, just to push them up in the world. I remember Nimal Anna telling me that when Peri Appah first came to conservative Sweden, that within a single day, he made friends with the next door neighbours who were strangers until that point and organised a dinner together. I doubt that he gave them a choice. I have no doubt, that born under different privileged circumstances, Peri Appah would have climbed very high in the world and touched many lives without even meaning to do so. I will always remember that about him. Rest in peace Peri Appah. Love Kajen.
