A tribute to a dear father-in-law. A great man. Everything evolved around him and he deserved it. He had a great character, drawing people towards him, which reminds me much of my grandmother Tyra. Both had the same, rare talent of motivating people. Everyone always wanted to be around them and felt the urge to do things together with them and be by their side. He was also a very courageous man. An example of this is when he made the bold decision to listen to his eldest son, my very wise husband Nimalan and took a big step in order to help the rest of the family, and extended family out of Sri Lanka and away from war, to have a blessed life in Canada. I still remember when Nimalan and I were newly married, uncle asked me, - Will you take care of me when I get old?- I said yes with dignity. I hope he and aunty felt that Nimalan and I did, by going to Canada every summer to be with him and aunty. It was heartbreaking last year to see him so helpless and weak but I admire my fantastic and strong mother in law for taking such good care of him until the very end. Aunty will need our support more than ever from now on. So until we all meet in heaven, may he rest in peace. Annike, wife of Nimalan (Sweden)
