Mr. Mathiaparanam Vivekananthan was born in Vannarpannai Jaffna, Sri Lanka and lived in Wellawatte,Colombo 6 passed away peacefully on 05-12-2021.

He is the son of Mr. Sinnaththamby Mathiaparanam of Jaffna and Mrs. Elaiyammah Mathiaparanam of Kantharodai.

He is the beloved brother of the following 8 sibblings, Late Mrs.Kamalathevy. Thavarajah, Mrs.Nalayinithevy Kanagasabai (Sri Lanka), Late Mr.M.Bavananthan, Mr.M.Sarvananthan(Germany), Dr.M.Sreetharan (U.K), Mrs.Srithevy Soccalingam (Canada), Mrs.Chiyamalathevy Muhunthan (Sri Lanka) and Dr.M.Krishnananthan (Australia) beloved Step Brother of Mr.M.Kandiah.

He was brought up at “Kamalapathy “,34 Bazaar Lane, Vannarpannai, Jaffna, and lived the latter part of his life in Wellawatte, Colombo 6, Sri Lanka.He worked for The Bank Of Ceylon, Land Registry Office and The Buildings Department. A Justice Of Peace and as well as a very well respected member of the community he was known to be ever ready to help any one in need. He will be remembered for his kindness and willingness to help, especially as he stepped up as the head of the family after his father’s demise in 1952. All of his siblings can attribute their success in life to his support and well wishes. 

He was in charge of Seva Dal Activities of Bhagavan Sree Sathya Sai Samiththi in Colombo for sevral years.

He was very well connected to Siva Yoga Swamigal Thiruvadi Nilayam at 53,Vivekananda Road,Wellawatte, Colmbo 6, Sri Lanka from its very first inception.

He reached the Lotus Feet of The Almighty at 8.00am on 05.12.2021  

The Hindu funeral rites at 8.30am on 06.12.2021 at Jayaratne Parlour – Kalubowila and Cremation at 10.30am at Kohuwala Crematorium were organised and facilitated by cousin Mrs.Karuneswari Brindaban and her daughter Mrs .Thaksha Ramesh May his soul rest in peace.
