Mrs. Maheswari Ammal Cumaraswamy (Mrs.Cum) was a highly respected prominent math teacher, and an effective administrator as the Vice Principal at Holy Family Convent, Bambalapitiya, yet an easygoing and caring person, who took the time from her busy schedule to host numerous young relatives and others at her home enabling them to pursue higher education and advancement of their careers. She embraced me with an open mind as her son-in-law and I will always cherish the special bond with mutual respect and her sharing of deep knowledge and life experiences. We had the privilege of her living with us during the latter part of her life. She inspired us and our children from her disciplined-life style, orderly routines and the compassion she exhibited towards the war victims and the needy and disabled children and adults. She is an irreplaceable role model who will be dearly missed. I have no doubt that she is in heaven looking down at all of us. May her soul Rest in Eternal Peace!!! Ohm Shanthi! Shanthi!! Shanthi!!!
