It is very sad indeed Kumarasuriyar is no longer with us. It could happen to any of us. He is such a popular batch mate of us. He was as famous as Sivaraman in our batch. Kumarasuriyar was our senior prefect we used to agree our duties every morning in the prefect room with him. He was devoted to Tamil and religion and conducted prayers in majority of the time. He was so good with his Tamil poem so I got him to write the preface to my autograph. After so many years I met him in Toronto in 2014 during our R50 reunion. He was a leader among us actively supported Kesavan in pulling together a great reunion. As a paediatrician, he served a community in his state and well respected in the community. He kept ties with his school mates and showed special interest in supporting the school JHC to make the best school in Jaffna. I can remember watching his song about the school which brings back lot of memories. Kumarasuriyar will no doubt be missed by every batch mate of his and of course his family and friends. May his soul rest in peace.
Our heartfelt condolences
