It is deeply saddening to learn of the passing of my good friend, Mr. V. Eeswaranathan . From his childhood, V.E was an all-round achiever, excelling remarkably in both sports and education. He attended the University of Peradeniya and later did his Chartered Accounting qualifications with Ford, Rhodes, Thornton & Co. He went on to become a Financial Director at John Keells Holdings, one of the leading corporate groups in Sri Lanka. In Canada, V.E. remained deeply committed to community work, serving dedicatedly as the Treasurer of Senior Tamils' Centre (STC) of Ontario. Joining STC during its early years shortly after its formation, he contributed immensely to the growth and well-being of the organization, which has now successfully completed 40 years of service. Professionally, V.E. contributed to excel in Canada, working with an organization for many years and continuing his valuable contributions well past his formal retirement. I extent my deepest sympathies to Eeswaranathan's beloved wife, Vijaya, their son, Diva, his close relatives, friends, and his fellow Hartley College alumni. May his great soul rest in peace.
