True to her name Thangam was like 'gold'. A good cousin and a good teacher. She gave me a very pleasant and welcome surprise by attending my wedding reception in Kuppilan in 1979. She arrived with Aachchi Baba Akka another cousin. Strangely enough she said that she had been invited by my wife's family, and not by my family and scolded me for that. True to her gentle nature she said that in a nice way. I appreciated very much her self effacing gesture. I never met her in person after that even though our paths were crossing each other like those of random comets. Thangam Akka, you will be sadly missed. Param, Your loving cousin from London.
