Suresh's passing has left us all in shock. It is difficult to find the words to express how we feel because he is still so fresh in our minds. It feels as if, at any moment he might walk through the door with his familiar smile, bringing warmth and energy, just as he always did. Should this be a time for sadness ?...Suresh would not want that. He lived his life with joy, kindness, and an open heart, and today, we choose to celebrate him rather than mourn his loss. Our journey with Suresh began from the time we were five year olds at St. Peter's College Colombo. From the very first day, he was part of us--not just a classmate, but a brother. Sugi, as we affectionately called him, was one of the most loved members of our batch. He had a way of making everyone feel comfortable, included, and valued. He was a jovial , happy, and no--nonsense guy, always with energy that could light up any room. His kindness knew no bounds. If there was ever a friend in trouble, Suresh was the first to step forward without hesitation. Some say that good people leave us too soon. Perhaps that is true, Suresh was one of the best among us. His time here may have been shorter than we wished but his impact was profound. From the early days at St. Peter's, where we grew up together, to the years that followed, he remained a steadfast friend---one who never harboured ill will, never pretended to be someone, he always embraced life with an open heart. We will always remember him, not just for his laughter and kindness, but for the way he made us feel like family. Even his playful nickname given in good humour because of his strength and where he came from, Wattala....., reminds us of the bonds we shared, the innocence of youth , and the deep friendships that never fade. Suresh, so long. You have reached your journey now, but your memories remain with us. Rest in eternal peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife and two daughters and his entire family.
