I am sorry to hear about the loss of Mrs. Sathyam Selvakone. My deepest condolences to Suhanya, Meera and their families. I have known Sathyam since I started my graduate studies in Vancouver in 1986. I still remember the welcoming smile on her face when I met the Selvakone couple at a social gathering for the first time. During my stay in Vancouver, Selvakone couple would invite us to their house for dinner on Christmas day. In 1989, when I suffered from stomach pain, I called Dr. Selvakone to find out the source of pain. Dr. Selvakone and Sathyam rushed to my home, and he diagnosed the pain as Appendix. They immediately took me to the hospital in their car and admitted me for surgery. I will always remember this help. Sathyam has been very helpful to many other people in the Vancouver community. She would always accompany Dr. Selvakone and was very supportive of his actions. May her soul rest in peace.
