Ruban sithappa was like a magnet. Everyone was attracted to him because of his smile and his amazing personality. He’s one of the most caring guys you will ever meet. Growing up, he was like a second dad to us. He did make sure that we did good in school but he always wanted to us to be kids. He made sure we got to play sports with him and watch them with him too. He was always making us laugh by telling us funny stories and by singing while he was showering. Sithappa was an award winning poet and martial artist, but cricket was his biggest passion. He made sure that he was there to support the softball cricket league every weekend. Even if Bloor Fighters lost the game, Sithappa was there always there till the end because he loved the game and his friends. The relationship between my dad and Ruben was amazing. They were best friends and inseparable. It’s very to hard to find siblings who were that close to each other. They would call each other and talk for hours. All you hear is laughter. Tears would be coming down from their eyes from all their laughs. The most heartbreaking part of all this is when Ruban would call about cricket scores. He couldn’t see the games with his own eyes, so he would call me or my dad about updates. The last memory I have of Sithappa is having him attending my wedding. He hugged my wife and I and gave us his blessings. Ruban sithappa never leaves home but he wanted to attend my wedding. That shows the love he has for his family. He mentioned that he wanted to see me be a father and wanted to hold my baby. I will always cherish that moment. While he might not see them, my kids will always be taught about the life of Ruban Ratnam. I Love You Always - Suji
