We are saying goodbye to another school friend, Mathivathanah. Words fail.... Hearts struggle to express.... Grief overwhelms.... We may have finished our schooling 42 years ago, but we still remember our class mate fondly. Mathivathanah was a pretty girl with chubby cheeks, riding on her chopper bike, her long hair almost touching the seat of her bike, the sunlight reflecting on her beautiful face casting a yellow hue, smile that spreads like a lightening, the echo of her childhood laughter still in our hearts...She never took advantage of her mother being a teacher at the same school. A friend tenderly remembers that her mother told her, they both were born on the same day at Jaffna hospital. As the youngest in her family, she was adored by everyone. Her bubbly nature never left her as per her close friends and she loved cooking and hosting gatherings as her house which she kept spotless and stylish. Her beautiful garden and fish in her pond are going to miss her gentle touch. Her beautiful singing will be always with us. The distance and time may have made some of us lose touch, but the memories are still fresh... Rest peacefully, Mathivathanah, you are not in pain anymore. Your are with your love of life and will be in our hearts forever.....
