Ramasamy Somasundaram, affectionately known to friends as Somu, was a childhood friend of mine, a great human being, a smart businessman, and his passing away is an irreparable loss to the community. I write to convey my sincere condolences to his wife, children and their families.  ... I fondly remember him of the earlier days in Kiranchiampathi, then for a short few years at the Maha Vidyalayam. Principal then was Mr. Vilvaratnam and Somu was one of his good students. Having left the country a bit early for studies, I missed our contact for several decades. Yet, I had the good fortune of meeting him again only a few years ago during his visit to Canada. It was the same gentle person that I met, and promised to visit back soon. A very few people we fondly remember after so many years and were happy to learn of his success in his business. People like him are indeed treasure to society. ... Happy to know the stability of his children who will undoubtedly carry his good name. And may he rest in eternal peace.
