The memories I have shared with Papa uncle stretch from the time I was a 3/4 yr old child to now. He had so much patience, would entertain my tireless questions, always creating interesting ways to humour me . In 1967 ,When my sis started kindergarten , I was just 3-4 yrs old & wanted to go to school too. He set up a blackboard by the drain for me to pretend that it's a mini school for me to go to and encouraged me to study at this special kindergarten. I enjoyed every moment sitting on his lap as a child or by his side when I was much older , chatting through the night with him. He enjoyed his Tamil songs , and will be humming or singing them with good tune & rhythm. He was always lively, enjoyed good home cooked meals and was also a great listening ear whenever I needed someone to talk to. He would just be a phone call away. He was also an excellent Math teacher. In 1981 when they visited us in Singapore , I was struggling with A level Maths & he took time, while on his holidays to help me understand concepts. He was a second papa to me. Papa uncle was always observant, noticed details , was compassionate & empathetic as well. When my Amma passed away, he knew I was super attached to her as a kid & called to check on me & give me strength. Such was his loving nature. My last moments with him was in Dec 2016 at Canada. Even while being hospitalised he was cajoling & teasing me about my size & we spent long hours chatting away. Papa uncle, you will be missed dearly , no one can remove these beautiful cherished moments that you have given me. You have made a huge impact on my life & I will always cherish & love you & deeply . Yoy are now Hi Im at the back of the block . Thanks with Lord Murugan. Om Shanthi to your atma.
