Ananthapaskaran (Paski) and I studied at Kokuvil Hindu College until we went to University of Ceylon in June 1961. Paki was very qiet and hard working. He was liked by all his teachers (Handy Perinpanayakam, Kanthasamy, , to name a rew) due to his mannerism, good behaviour and hard work. Although he was younger than me and many of my class mates including my cousin LateMageswaran (Professor of Chemistry) Paky was in the class above us (senior to us!). When I was young I did not know that Pasky was a good sportsman. He was at Marcus Fernando Hall (Peradeniya University) and later I heard that he was very popular among other students in the campus and he had a lot of admirers due to his charming personality, frienly & helpful nature and sincerity. When I visited Sabalingam master in August 1971 after my wedding I heard Paky's voice from a room. So I went to talk to him. To my surprise I saw Pasky with a charming girl < Ranji Sabalingam. I did not know that Pasky had an eye on his teacher's pretty daughter. I was very pleased to see them together. our friendship with Pasky and Ranji continue to grow after we moved to the UK. We had many good times with Pasky, Ranji, Vani & Veena and enjoyed their company. Pasky was offered a Research position at Swansea Universityby Prof Williams when he finished his Chemical Engineering degree at University of London with flying colours. Let Pasky's soul rest in peace.
