My dearest Mamma, You were such a loving presence in my life when I was growing up in Sri Lanka, and that love meant more to me than words can say. Even though we lived miles apart because of the war in our home country, and we couldn’t see or speak to each other often, I always felt your love. I am so grateful that I was able to introduce you to my husband and my son, and that you were able to speak to them in your final hours. That means so much to me. One of my favourite memories is when you made me a tricycle and painted it gold, just because I asked. I will also never forget the way you lovingly called my name. Thank you for making me feel so cared for and loved. You will always hold a special place in my heart. I know you are in a good place now, with your sisters. Rest in peace.
