My amazing, vivacious, so full of life grandmother heartbreakingly passed away on Saturday evening. Though you spent most of my life in Canada, you lived with us for months at a time, first to take care of me when my baby brother was first born, then when he broke his leg aged 2 and my mother and him spent 6 months in the hospital and then throughout my childhood and adult years. You chaperoned my class trips at infant school, you held my hand on the bus to and from hospitals, you took care of me like your own daughter. You dropped everything to be with your family. You met Liam before anyone else did and within half an hour, hugged him and declared “I love you Liam” even before I did! You were always the life and soul of a party but also our lives. You were always always happy and positive and just embraced everyone in to you family regardless of who they were or where they came from. Family was the most important thing to you and you are hugely important to us. Even though you lived in Canada, you made such a huge impact on our lives and have left a very deep hole. We love you so much ammamma, I hope you are smiling up there again now you are with Ammapa once more and are no longer in any pain. I will miss you with all my heart, I am gutted that your great grand children won’t get to know you like I did but we will tell them about you, all the best stories. Like when you danced the robot dance at a very serious gathering and Liam joined in. When you sat in your walker seat and danced at wedding after wedding. How you never let your health stop you from being there for your family. I wish I’d said all these things to you. I wish I had one more time where I could sit on your bed next to you and flick through the Avon catalogue where you would promise to buy me anything I wanted. You amazing woman you, I know you are up there with the angels smiling down on your family ❤️❤️❤️
