Vije was a dear friend, whose presence among us was filled with joy and fun. He had great stories to tell, and had a larger than life personality. Aside from all the lighthearted fun, he was true to his convictions and worked tirelessly in this regard. He fearlessly stood up for the causes he believed in. He helped numerous newcomers to establish personally and professionally in Canada and helped many charities back in the homeland. We remember fondly the last travel we did together.
