PARAM’S LOSS IS NOT ONLY A MONUMENTAL LOSS TO HIS FAMILY, BUT ALSO TO HIS FRIENDS & ASSOCIATES WHO LOVED HIM SINCERELY. IT WAS WHEN I JOINED MADRAS CHRISTIAN COLLEGE FOR OUR GRADATE STUDIES IN 1954 I ASSOCIATED WITH HIM. HE WAS A SOFT SPOKEN AND HUMBLE PERSON. HE ALWAYS HAD A SMILE ON HIS FACE. AFTER GRADUATING WE LOST TOUCH AND IT WAS AT HIS SON GRII’S HOUSE IN US WE REUNITED. WE KEPT IN TOUCH VIA E-MAILS AND EXCHANGED INTERESTING NEWS & IDEAS. TILL ABOUT TWO TO THREE YEARS BACK WE KEPT IN TOUCH. MY SON WHO IS A FRIEND OF GIRI INFORMED ME THAT PARAM WAS INCAPACITATED DUE TO ILL HEALTH. WHENEVER WE VISITED HIM AT GIRI’S RESIDENCE WE WERE TREATED GENEROUSLY & LAVISHLY. I HAVE LOST A SINCERE PAL OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHIES TO GIRI AND FAMILY AND OTHER EXTENDED FAMILY MEMBERS. MAY PARAM FIND ETERNAL BLISS AT THE LOTUS FEET OF THE CREATER,
