This is Jayakanth, son of Wignarajah. It is very hard to believe that our Chitappah is no more. Chitappah is naturally loving, caring, trustworthy, honest and a very responsible person. He has been working for close to three decades at Asbestos Industries, Sri Lanka and for his testament to hard work and honesty, he is one of very handful employees to get company car and other perks provided by the management of Asbestos. I have been visiting their house in my early years when he was living at Sagara Road, Bambalapitiya and he is down to earth and a humble person that I know of him. He made a very difficult decision to depart Asbestos Industries and he had a roaring farewell and all the people were kind of in tears when he left Asbestos. He continued to maintain all his contacts while here in Toronto even now. When I moved to Toronto Canada in 2001, he along with his brother in law picked me up at the Airport and allowed me to stay at his place. Not only that he also took me to government offices to take identification and also other places like to take drivers’ licenses. Though the latter few things might be small things, when all of those small things are taken together, it becomes a significant factor. His hallmark to success has been working very hard irrespective of the results and he has proved this until this later stage of his cherished life.
