Late Asokan Thamby
1964 -
2022
I have fond memories of Ashokan from Hartley College. When he left Hartley prematurely and went to India for studies, the principal announced his departure to all students with sadness. He and a few other Hartleyites were the pioneers in Madras in early eighties in garnering sympathy for Eelam war among college students in Tamil Nadu. He led an organization called TESO, Tamil Eelam Students Organization, which was closely working with MGR and the many rebel movements that were operating in Tamil Nadu at that time. He will surely be missed by the 1982 A/L batch of Hartleyities.
