To Mr Karunanithy's family I have very fond memories of Mr Arumugam Karunanithy and I had a real connection with him. He was a very good teacher and was thorough in his work. He really helped me with my Mathematics and Physics modules at University. I will be forever grateful for the way he taught me. I also fondly remember him as a loving grandparent. I admired the way he cared for his grandchildren whenever I visited him. He loved to spoil them! I was glad to hear from his daughter Malarvilli that he carried on doing the things he enjoyed such as teaching and training tradesman/engineers. I wasn't surprised when she told me that he invested his own money and supervised renewable energy projects in Sri Lanka in order to rebuild his home country that had been devastated by war. He always cared for others and was selfless. Even though the last time I saw him was back in 2009 I know I will miss him forever. He will be greatly missed by so many as well as myself! I will always remember him as a very hard working, intelligent, generous, patient and humble man. He lead by example and loved learning and teaching. A true inspiration! Shanker Thangarajah
