I feel truly blessed that I had the chance to speak to my dear uncle before he passed away. Knowing that I heard his voice one last time is something I will always hold close to my heart. He was an incredibly intelligent and organised person who planned everything with such care. During the difficult times of the Tamil war in Sri Lanka, he showed great courage and determination by migrating to Canada and building a life with Rita Aunty and his children, Thevi, Ramesh (who sadly passed away), and Shanthi, and created a loving home for them. Whenever I visited Canada on holidays, he would carefully plan an itinerary for my trips. Those thoughtful plans meant so much to me. Some of my happiest memories are the simple moments we shared playing cards together, hearing his infectious laugh, and enjoying his wonderful company. He was a truly special person with a warm heart. He loved his grandchildren, Swetha and Sri Ram, dearly, and they adored their Appachi in return. He will be deeply missed by all of us, but his love, laughter, and the beautiful memories he gave us will stay in our hearts forever.
