Maami, I don’t even know where to start. Everytime you walk through the door your presence fills the room with so much happiness and joy, you’re contagious smile spreading across to each person, your jokes making everyone laugh and that just sums you up as a person. An individual who never fails to make everyone smile. I don’t remember a time where I’ve come to your house and left with an empty stomach, where I’ve come to your house and have felt unwelcome, where I’ve come to your house and left sad and that is all thanks to you. We only realise what we’ve lost when it’s gone… and we definitely have lost a very very big part of our lives, no matter what differences we may have you always show up and that’s one of the biggest things that you’ve taught me, showing up and the importance of that. I cannot express my love for you through words but just know that you will always hold a special place in my heart. You’ve added meaning to the word Maami- you’ve shown me just how important it is to have a role model who has so much love to give and I hope I can be half the person that you were.
