It was in unique circumstances in the early sixties I met Nagarajah master as he was known to the Tamil teachers of my mother's generation. He was at the time the Secretary to the Western Province Tamil Teachers' Association (WPTA). Strangely enough I became a classmate of his son Theva in the late sixties developing a close acquaintance getting to know the family as an intermittent visitor to their house in Kotahena. Mr Nagarajah was a man of determination and drive concerned with the education of the Tamil pupils in the province making an indelible mark on the WPTA activities with much passion. Along with my wife Ithayamalar, may I take this opportunity to convey our heartfelt sympathies to the grieving family with prayers. May the good Lord bless his soul abundantly. Dr S Ariyanayagam
