Though it is an incredibly sad occasion, we find reconciliation in your fathers’ departure according to our faith and teachings, such as Bhagavad Gita, that life is transient and the spirit lives on as a continuum through various transformations. Your late father may be no more in his previous form, but he lives on with a new lease of life somewhere. So, whenever we feel the breeze, see the fluttering of leaves or the colours of flowers, the floating clouds, we know that the spirit of your father, kinsman and our beloved teacher lives on. Your father was posted into Galahitiyawa Central College ( Gampaha District ) in 1961 as our Chemistry master, when the school established the first science GCE Advanced Level class, in which I was one student. He was much loved and a dedicated member of the staff at Galahitiyawa. I have lot of fond memories of your father, for whom I respected immensely.
