Mano chithapa was a kind and talkative person. He enjoyed conversations and loved being around people and cared for those close to him. He would often visit my parents in Urumpirai and whenever he did, he always asked about my studies. My first Christmas meal was at his house in Urumpirai. Few years after he married my fathers cousin (kumares aunty), he organized a wonderful Christmas meal and party at their house in Urumpirai. For this occasion, he bought a huge Christmas tree and invited many family members. Even though it was back in urumpirai back in early 1980s, I still remember the event and his warm hospitality. He and my father (Bala) shared a strong bond and were good friends when we lived in Sri Lanka. I really admire Mano chithapas ability to be social and funny. May his soul rest in peace.
