Varathakumar was a Jaffna Hindu college student and he played cricket for the school. Friendly classmate , popular for his strong character. In the UK heading the TIC he helped the Tamil cause for years . I have met him during meetings discussing Tamil issues, his polite and firm observations were very well appreciated . His death leaves a void that will be missed by all. For me it is loss of a respected friend and mate
