Dear Appa, We miss you very much and now I'm beginning to process how our lives will change now that you are no longer physically here with us. I wished we had more time together and wished I knew the pain you endured the last few years. Although we didn't see things from eye to eye, you were a beacon of strength and taught your daughters to go on with our lives without worrying about others' expectations. I knew you wanted us to live our lives to the fullest and that's I what we intend to do. I missed your corny jokes, how we would talk about world news, watch soccer and spend time with our security guard feline Bella. I enjoyed listening to your stories of growing up in Sri Lanka and Germany and the funny stories of your children. You were a wise man.
