Ammah, as I have always called her since I entered her home was an EXTRAORDINARY HUMAN BEING, this is not because she is my mother in law. Ammah embraced me as her own flesh and blood, she loved me, cooked and fed me, corrected me when I went wrong, gave me money when I didn't have any did everything that a mother would do for a child. Ammah did not differentiate between her daughter, my wife Nira and myself, she treated us both equally. To say that Nira,myself and her most beloved grandson Kuti ammah as she affectionately called Neriah are broken is an understatement. We are shattered beyond words, but we take solace in the loving arm of our God and our Lord Jesus. Ammah's grandson will always remind us of her and her love for all. The passion with which her grandson (though only 5 years), speaks of her tells of how close they were together. After collecting ammah's beloved grandson from school yesterday enroute home, I observed that he was quite in the car so I asked him if he was ok, his response broke my heart but then I had to remain strong for him. These were his words,"I MISS MY PATTI SO I AM VERY SAD".Ammah, your children are broken, we want you back but we also have to understand that to everything there is a time and a season. Sleep well Ammah, forever in our HEARTS. You were love in person, strangers made your home theirs, thank you for everything, We love you.
