Many children visit and cherish their grandparents in person, listen to their endless stories and hold their grandparents' advice to heart. My loving grandparents are in contact with me almost everyday over the phone; but 'Uncle Thatha' also stood as a grandfather figure that I can always visit, help and listen to for valuable advice. I remember the year of my life where I had spent at least an hour a day everyday with him, reading him passages from the most empowering books. At first, I thought I was helping him. I was ever so wrong. These passages taught me lessons that I can take on for my own life. These passages were the holy grail to a life of pure happiness and contentment. He imprinted himself in my heart, I will forever let him guide me. His intentions and humane qualities had seeped into me, bringing me to the person I am today. I will be eternally grateful for this noble man's existence in my life. I will be forever thankful for his moral strength he had given us at times of low esteem. I will miss you always, 'Uncle Thatha'. -Nithila
