Dr Kiru and I had a close friendship since 1971 when I joined Peradeniya as an Assistant Lecturer in Veterinary Anatomy while he was there as a Demonstrator in Anatomy while preparing himself for his post -graduate qualification. After both of us moving out of Sri Lanka for our post -graduate studies , we met again in 1985 in Nigeria where I worked as a University Lecturer and Dr Kiru as the Director of Eye Hospital, Kano. Since then, his house became our second home while we lived there and visited Kano. He was a very kind , simple and very religious gentleman . I wish to extend our very sincere and heartfelt condolences to Raji and her family in facing this very irreparable loss. May God give my great friend's soul eternal rest in the solemn feet of Jesus Christ. Amen
