It is with utmost sadness that I write this message. One of my oldest friends, whom I considered a brother - Sri Pathmanathan Sri Rangan, left this world on 5/4/20 due to COVID19. He was a part of my life for the past 50 years and was a figure who played a pivotal role as well as being someone of huge influence on decisions that have been made in my life. During our school days, both our families were very close to each other. Our fathers both worked in the l postal department. Although we studied at different schools, both families would share everything with one another. When we were in Colombo, we both studied at Brighton College. During these years of youth, the memories created were paramount to us not only forming a closer relationship for ourselves, but for our families too. We both arrived in London in the early 1970s and I went on to live with my brother who had arrived some years before. When he decided to leave London, I moved in with Rangan and his friends. The alien environment and eberyday challenges were conquered with the help of eachother. He is patriote and loves his people and country a charitable minded person helping people in need He is someone who is selfless, a leader and ensures everyone around him is well looked after. His character will live on through his children. Covid 19 may have taken my best friend away, but his life will be cherished by myself and many more for the years to come. Rest in beautiful peace, Rangan.
We were sorry to hear about your sad loss only now. Please accept our deepest sympathies and condolences. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time.
