A great Vembadian, Miss Sarojinithevi Tharmalingam has attained the lotus feet of the Almighty on Tuesday, 24 June 2025.

Miss Tharmalingam was a retired Deputy Principal, Physical Education PE & English language teacher of J/Vembadi Girls’ High School from her first appointment until her retirement in 1997. Due to her passion & dedication for teaching, Miss Tharmalingam continued her teaching service at Saiva Mangayar Vidyalayam, Colombo until 2024.

She was the eldest daughter of late Mr & Mrs M Tharmalingam (55, Hospital Road, Kottadi, Jaffna). She was a dear sister to late Mr Kulendran (Bank officer), late Mr Ganeshalingam, late Mr Mahendran (Germany) & Mrs Rohini Kavirajasekaram (UK). Miss Tharmalingam was a sister in law to Mrs P Kulendran & Mrs S Mahendran (Germany).

She was also loving ‘Pethi’ periyamma to one and only nephew, Timothy (UK) and dear mami to Madhevi (UK), Damayanthi, Balashankar (Norway), Meera (UK), Kapilan (Germany) & Dhanushan (Switzerland). Most treasured paati of Laavanyen (UK).
