நகைச்சுவை உணர்வும் கனிவான பேச்சும் கொண்ட இவர், கிரிக்கெட் விளையாட்டின் தீவிர ரசிகர்.

அன்னார், காலஞ்சென்ற அகஸ்டின், ரோசம்மா தம்பதிகளின் அன்பு மகனும், அந்தோனி லூர்தம்மா தம்பதிகளின் அன்பு மருமகனும்,

ஜெயராஜா, ஜெகநாதன், ஜெயராணி, விமலா, சாந்தா, சேகர், பிரேமன், மல்லிகா ஆகியோரின் அன்புச் சகோதரரும்,

மேரி சுலோசனா யோகநாதன் அவர்களின் அன்புக் கணவரும்,

கிளாட்வின், சபாத்தினி ஆகியோரின் பாசமிகு தந்தையும்,

அருண் அவர்களின் அருமை மாமனாரும்,

அருவி, கயல், வியன், அன்பு ஆகியோரின் பாசமிகு தாத்தாவும் ஆவார்.

நண்பர்களுக்குச் சிறந்த தோழனாகவும், மருமக்கள் மற்றும் பெறாமக்களுக்குப் பாசமிகு சித்தப்பா, பெரியப்பா, மாமாவாகவும் விளங்கிய இவரது நினைவுகள் என்றும் எம் இதயங்களில் நிலைத்திருக்கும்

Richard Augustin Joganathan, originally from Jaffna, Sri Lanka and a longtime resident of Toronto, Ontario passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026.

Richard loved a long conversation and a good laugh. Once he started talking, he was in no rush to stop. A devoted cricket fan, he was found cheering them on until his very last days.

Many adored him for his sharp wit and great sense of humor, which he carried with him to the end.

Richard dedicated years of hard work to the restaurant industry, but his greatest joy was lovingly cooking for others. He generously ensured that every child in his life, whether family or neighbor, was always well-fed and never left his presence hungry. 

Richard was the beloved husband of Mary Sulosana and loving father of Gladwin and Sabatinie. He was the proud father-in-law of Arun Narendiran and the adoring grandfather of Aruvi, Kayal, Viyan and Anbu, who will continue his legacy of generosity towards others.

He will be deeply missed by his siblings Jeyarajah, Jeganathan, Jeyarani, Wimala, Shantha, Segar, Preman and Mallika. He was the son of the late Augustin Thambimuthu and Rosamma Aurampillai, and the son-in-law of the late Anthony Joosaimuthu and Lourthamma Anthony.

Richard was a kind in-law and cousin, a loyal friend to many, a caring sithappa, periappa and mama to his many nieces and nephews.
