கண்ணீர் அஞ்சலி

Mano (Anthony) Joseph 28 SEP 2020 Canada

Part 1. SON’s TRIBUTE TO AMMA Amma, your name says it all. Amma (mother), Anpu (love), Akka (big sister) Anpu Akka (loving big sister for the village community), Periamma (adopted big mom for all sibling’s children) or Malar (flower) as your hubby called you, Godma, Grandma, Great grandma and many more. But for us your children you were Theivam. Loosing your mother, our grandma, at a young age a year after marriage you took on the role of mother for all six siblings & cared for our Grandfather for 37 years. Once your siblings started having children, they also became your children, although they all called you Periamma you were their adoptive mom. Cared for all with love and support. Even to this day, all my cousins love and respect you for your hand in their success in life. In the village front, during the time I was at home I can’t remember an event, be it a wedding, funeral, church activity or similar celebrations, without your leadership organizational role in the community to ensure success. When it came to church, you took it upon you to ensure the priests were comfortable & took care of all church activities including music. You enjoyed the friendship of hundreds of priests and dozens of bishops. That did not stop when you arrived in Canada, you continued to enjoy their friendship and they loved you for who you were. If I have to introduce myself to anyone from home, it is always as ANPU’s son and that is enough. The number of tributes from around the globe we have been receiving from people whose lives were enriched by your influence is unreal.
