Heartfelt Condolences on Ammamma’s passing. She has lived a long and independent life just as she had always wanted. I remember first meeting her when she had moved to Madras from Colombo in 1983. She seemed a formidable personality with kindness in her eyes. Several years later, I had an oppurtunity to stay with her in London, where she had moved earlier. I was lucky enough to get to know her better. Fiercely independent, proud of her heritage, loved by her children & grand children, she lived peacefully in Purley. She wanted to live until a 100, she used to confide in me! I would like to get a letter of congratulation from the Queen is what she said! I told her that she would live a 100 and beyond, this was in early 2000. I will cherish the moments spent with her, the food that she cooked for me, always a kind and encouraging word that she had for me. God Bless her! She will be truly missed. ♥️🙏🏻
